Christmas Party – We will be having a Christmas party on Thursday, December 21st. We will not have pizza that day, so students will need to bring lunches.
At the party, we want to encourage all of our students to bring a gift that will be exchanged. We will have the boys in each separate learning center exchange with each other, and the girls will do the same. We ask that gifts be valued around $10 so they are similar when exchanged. Only the students who bring gifts will be included in the exchange.
We are also asking that our families would send in some cookies or snacks to share with everyone. This is not a requirement, but would certainly make the party much more festive and enjoyable. We will provide a few snacks and the drinks.
The 21st is the last day of the semester and will begin Christmas Break. Christmas break will go through January 3rd with school starting again on January 4th.
Hot lunches – Please note that we can no longer heat up soup or other items unless they are prepared to heat and serve. We will also not be able provide dishes (bowls for soup, etc.). Anything needing heated should be brought in a dish. This is especially true of Ramen Noodles (a bowl needs to be provided so that they can be heated in the microwave). It is very time consuming and is causing too much confusion at the lunch counter to try to find church dishes, open up cans, and then wash church dishes. This is stated in the handbook but has not been enforced this year. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter as it greatly affects the schedule of every school day.
Closings/delays – We follow Derry Area School District for closings and delays. Bus companies that transport for other school districts will generally go by what the district does that you live in. However, if they feel there is a safety issue, they should contact you directly with alternate closing/delay information. We do not have control over this because it is provided by those companies through the school district in which you live.
Box Tops and Chick-Fil-A receipts – Please continue to collect and send in box tops and Chick-Fil-A receipts throughout the year.
