It is hard to believe we are halfway through the second quarter already! The Holidays are upon us, and, with that, many events. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.

  1. Thanksgiving Break – we will have an 11:30am dismissal tomorrow, the 24th, and be off school through Monday, the 29th. School will resume on Tuesday, the 30th.
  2. Basketball – practices will begin on December 2nd and will be every Tuesday and Thursday through the 21st. There will be a basketball camp on January 4th-5th. More details will be available to the players once practices start. The cost for the camp will be $50. There are also two home basketball games on the calendar for Christmas break, January 6th and 7th.
  3. Christmas Shoppe – we will be having a school Christmas Shoppe on December 15th and 16th. This is a chance for students to buy presents for friends and family. There will be a large variety of items ranging from less than a dollar to around $10. More information will go home the week before the Shoppe, but we wanted to give you more notice so that you could prepare to give your students a few dollars to buy some surprise Christmas presents.
  4. Christmas Party – we will be having a Christmas party on December 22nd during the second half of the school day. This will be a chance for some refreshments, games, and a gift exchange. Students should bring a $5-10 gift in order to participate in the exchange. Girls should buy gifts for girls, and boys for boys. Please let Pastor Lear know if you would like to volunteer to send in some refreshments for the party.
  5. Christmas Break – we have a nice, extended Christmas break this year. The academic release days scheduled for the beginning of January will become part of the break, which means no school starting December 23rd and it will not resume until January 10th.
  6. Honor Roll – With the shortened second quarter due to days off for holidays, we want to extend the opportunity for students who are trying to get honor to take tests through the first week of school back from Christmas break. Although it will be the first week of the third quarter, there are many more days in the second half of the year, so we want to make sure that the students striving to attain honor roll can make it. When we have done this in the past, it has only affected a few students, but it was a big help to them.

We are looking forward to a wonderful time celebrating the Christmas season with the students and our school families!
