Today, our students will have the opportunity to listen to a presentation from a local veteran and have lunch with several veterans. Veteran’s who are attending, please arrive before 11am. We will have the presentation and then pizza.

We are kicking off our Cards for Veterans campaign this week. From now through December 14th, we are encouraging students to buy and make Christmas cards for veterans as well as collecting gift cards. Gift cards can be as little as $5 and can be for grocery stores, Walmart, or even restaurants. This effort is in conjunction with Heroes Never Alone, a great nonprofit organization that helps veterans. We are trying to collect or make 1,500 Christmas cards and 500 gift cards. I hope you will help us make our veterans feel special this Christmas season.

As a school, we raised $568.50 in our Quarters for Cancer drive. The proceeds will be going to a local family dealing with skin cancer as well as some other health issues. Learning Center 1 raised the most funds and will have free pizza and ice cream next Friday, the 14th.
