Weather Information
Winter weather delays and cancelations for BBCA go by Derry Area School District. Once we have their info, we try to send a school text to everyone on our newsletter list. Most bus companies will follow the school district you live in (i.e. if Latrobe delays, the bus delays, even if Derry does not). To help ensure students do not have to add make-up days, we have students take home their PACEs when bad weather is expected to do their daily goals. Exceptions to this (i.e. no work or partial work expected) will be noted in the school text that cancels school for the day. If you have any questions about this, please contact the school.
Inauguration
Many families have expressed interest in watching the upcoming presidential inauguration live with their children. Families may choose to work from home that day (a full day’s work is still required) in order to watch the event. We will not have the live event at school, however, we may do a recorded replay later in the day. Please let your student’s supervisor know if you plan to keep them home for that day.
Basketball
I hope you plan to come out and support these young men and women as often as you can. You will find more details about games on the school calendar page. Please note the change to this Friday. There is a JV game scheduled for 4:00pm; Girls and varsity guys games will follow.
Next Year
If you look at the school calendar, you will see we are already starting the calendar for next year. We realize the extra days off at the start of this school year were difficult for some students and have reduced that number considerably for next year. It is not finalized yet, but you will get a sense of how the school year will start.
