Convention – We are fast approaching the first deadlines for convention students. We must have all registration paperwork turned in by next Tuesday, January 29th. A $50 non-refundable deposit is also required for all students going to convention by February 8th. Students not turning in paperwork or registration fees by the deadline will not be able to participate in convention as these deadlines are placed on us by ACE.

March Madness – I know it seems far away, but Friday, March 1st, is our school’s annual March Madness Tournament. Each year we ask parents to provide some of the items needed to help offset the costs of referees, trophies, and other expenses for the tournament. If you are willing to donate food items, please let me know and I can get you a list of things needed. Monetary donations will go towards offsetting these costs.

Spirit Week – We will have Spirit Week during the days leading up to the March Madness Tournament. As in years past, we will have a theme for each day for students to dress up. Each day a student dresses up, they will receive a ticket towards a drawing for cash prizes at the end of the week. Parents, please encourage your students to participate as it is a great opportunity to display school spirit. Students choosing not to participate in the dress up days must wear regular school uniforms (polo and khakis/polo and skirt). We will also be splitting the school up into teams and having competitions during the week. The themes of the days will be as follows:

Monday – Multiplicity day. Student should get together as groups and dress alike. Either as groups of things or in similar outfits.

Tuesday – Cash for Casual Day – All student who bring in at least $1 will be able to dress casual for the day. All monies collected will go towards the costs associated with March Madness.

Wednesday – Disney day. Students can dress like their favorite Disney character or wear a t-shirt that contains their favorite character.

Thursday – Superhero day. Students can dress up like their favorite superhero or wear a superhero t-shirt.

Friday – School Spirit day. Students should wear school colors (blue/gray/white). Students may color their hair, paint their faces, etc. (unless they are a player, they are not permitted to do that on the court).

In considering the winter weather, please remember that our school goes by Derry Area School District for delays and cancelations. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact us so you know how to respond on those days.

Please continue to send in Box Tops for Education and Chick-Fil-A receipts from Eastgate and Westmoreland Mall. January’s Scripture is John 15:8-17. Please let me know if you have any questions.
