I wanted to write to give you more information on some upcoming events. We are quickly approaching many major school and church functions and want to communicate some of those details so you are able to be prepared. As always, please do not hesitate to contact your supervisor or myself with any questions you may have.

  1. Valentine’s – although we are not planning a party this year, each learning center will have the opportunity to make and/or exchange Valentine’s this Friday afternoon. We will set aside about an hour at the end of the day for them to enjoy some fellowship.
  2. Basketball Games – there are home games scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday as well as an away game on Friday.
  3. President’s Day – there is no school on Monday, February 15th, to observe President’s Day.
  4. Spirit Week – February 22-26 is Spirit Week. While we allow students to dress up, please remember to follow school dress code guidelines. If you have a question about an outfit, please send a picture to your child’s supervisor and ask! We will have the following themes for spirit days:
    1. Monday – Crazy hair and sock day – perfect day to just roll out of bed and come in without messing with the hair! Make it crazy and mismatched and have fun with it.
    2. Tuesday – Holiday day – Dress up in a holiday costume or theme – St. Patrick’s Day, ugly Christmas Sweater, whatever Holiday you enjoy
    3. Wednesday – Decade day – dress up like you are from a past decade – 80s hair, 70s Tie Dye, roaring 20s, fabulous 50s, whatever decade you want to celebrate
    4. Thursday – Disney day – the most popular day from years past, dress up as your favorite Disney character or wear a t-shirt with a Disney movie
    5. Friday – Spirit day – come dressed in your blue, white, and gray and be prepared to cheer your teams on to victory throughout the day! We will kick off the tournament with a pep rally at the start of the school day!
  5. BBCA Invitational – this year’s tournament is on Friday, February 26th, to cap off spirit week. I hope you will plan on attending and cheering on our girls and boys basketball teams. We are always in need of volunteers to help in the concession stand as well as donations towards the food to help cover the sports program costs. Please let me know if you are able to help out in either of these area!
  6. Early Dismissal – We will dismiss students at 11:30am on the day of the tournament. Students whose parents are not at the game must go home on their busses.
